Vitasta New Zealand (Charity #CC61598) is a registered charitable trust committed to preserving and promoting the rich cultural, linguistic, and spiritual heritage of the Kashmiri Pandit community in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Named after Vitasta — the ancient and revered name of the River Jhelum, which flows through the cradle of Kashmiri civilisation — the organisation embodies the sacred flow of knowledge, tradition, and resilience that defines the Kashmiri Pandit identity.
Vitasta NZ serves as a cultural cornerstone for the diaspora, nurturing community spirit and intergenerational bonds. Through traditional festivals, cultural programmes, seminars, and social gatherings, we celebrate and uphold the timeless values, rituals, and customs of the Kashmiri Pandit community — from Herath, Navreh, Zyeth Atham to Pann and Khech Mavas.
With a deep commitment to cultural continuity, we strive to pass on our rich legacy to future generations, fostering pride in our roots and connection to the spiritual and cultural homeland of Kashmir.
